The external and internal moulds required by the RTM process allow complex shaping and reinforcement that can’t be replicated using prepreg. The outer moulds are steel, very similar to those used with standard carbon construction, but we also create the inner molds of non-compressible wax. The sophisticated internal wax forms are complex works of art themselves, dramatically increasing the amount of preparation and care it takes to manufacture a top-quality composite part.  

Wax can be reused and doesn't create plastic waste

When the final product is removed from the press, the resulting interior surfaces are as flawless as those we see on the exterior. After the frame moulding process, the internal wax forms are melted from inside the frame and recycled. The wax used to make a handlebar one day may be utilized again later in the week to create a frame.
